Driven by her mother, actress and dancer, Jazmín began her first artistic steps at an early age studying classical dance, jazz and modern dance with several renowned teachers from Argentina. However, her attraction to Arabian music and culture become evident one day, looking for old records and cassettes of her grandfather, when she discovered Oum Kalthoum, who would awaken her passion for music and oriental dance.
At the age of 13, she began to study Oriental Dance at the Syrian-Lebanese Cultural Center in Córdoba under the guidance of her mentor and friend Celina Chaij. At the age of 15 she gave her first performance as a solo dancer at Restaurant Mikonos. Her training was expanded with the help of great Argentine Masters such as Amir Thaleb and Saida Helou.
Her curiosity led her to travel to New York at the age of 17, to continue training as a dancer and as an actress, taking classes at The Julliard School, Martha Graham School and the Egyptian Academy of Oriental Dance (Nourhan Sharif) and participating in various artistic events from the city. With this experience began what would be the basis for the development of her career.
Spending some years in Brazil, she discovered the teacher Lulu Sabongi and Soraia Zeid, who gave her the “know-how” to boost her career as an international dancer, she was invited as a soloist and teacher to various events and festivals in Brazil.
At 23 years old and with thousands of hours of studies and practice in the artistic industry, Jazmin arrived in Barcelona, where the sun, the Pyrenees, the Mediterranean sea, the architecture from Gaudí and Spanish culture wouldl be the source of inspiration and artistic development during the next 13 years.
Dancing in different companies (classical, flamenco and oriental) and working as a teacher and trainer of dancers, Jazmín continued to broaden the spectrum of her artistic expression, making a short movie with the film director and winner of several awards Oscar Alejandro Amenabar. These experiences has opened the doors for her to travel through Europe and Africa a dancer and teacher. Her travels through Arab countries isa constant source of sociocultural study, since Jazmin believes that to know how to perform you have to experiment.
In 2008 Dansándalo School of Oriental Dance (Barcelona) opened its doors, where she developed her role as director and teacher seeking to unite all these years of research in a new method to approach dance and Arabic culture.
Thanks to herdegree in Social Psychology (Ceideps 2011), she began the use of one of the most important tools for group coordination, pedagogy and teaching methodology, creating a new training course for dancers and teachers at a professional level.
Currently based in Düsseldorf-Germany, Jazmin continues her work as an International Dancer, as a choreographer for the Flores de Jazmin company (since 2015), as a teacher and trainer of professional dancers and as a producer of events, feeding her nomadic soul in her continuous search for expression and knowledge.
